Dehydrated tomato halves recalled due to potential sulfites

Global Veg Corp is recalling all lots and codes of its 5 lbs packages of “AVIATOR brand Sundried Tomato Halves”, Lot#060923/1, because they may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have a severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.

The recalled “Aviator Sundried Tomato Halves” was distributed nationwide. The product comes in a 5 lb. vacuum bags. No illnesses or adverse reactions involving this product have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed that the sulfite containing product was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of sulfites.

Consumers who have purchased 5LB Bags of “AVIATOR brand Sundried Tomato Halves”, Lot#060923/1, are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 201-367-0517.


Peach Oat Bars recalled due to potential undeclared coconut

Bobo’s of Loveland, Colorado is issuing a voluntary recall of Bobo’s Peach Oat Bars because they may contain undeclared coconut. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts – coconut run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Peach Bars were distributed through retail stores nationwide and through online orders at www.eatbobos.com

The product can be identified by the lot code found on a stamp on the front of the bar: 3J27111, Best By 7/23/24. These wrapped bars can also be found in cartons with lot codes: 3J21111 or 3K01111 with best by dates of 7/17/2024 and 7/28/2024 respectively. The bars are 3oz and may be a single bar or in a box of 12. UPC Code: 829262000203

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing coconut was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of coconut on the ingredient deck.

No other Bobo’s product with this best buy date was impacted.

Consumers who have purchased the affected lot should return the product to where it was purchased to request an exchange or full refund if there is an allergy concern. Affected product should then be discarded in a secure place and not consumed.

Himalayan Pain Relief Tea recalled due to undeclared drugs

WS Global, INC Brooklyn, NY is voluntarily recalling all lots of Himalayan Pain Relief Tea, tea packets to the consumer level. The products have been found to contain undeclared drugs, Diclofenac and Dexamethasone.

Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (commonly referred to as NSAIDs). NSAIDs may cause increased risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke, as well as serious gastrointestinal damage, including bleeding, ulceration, and fatal perforation of the stomach and intestines. This hidden drug ingredient may also interact with other medications and significantly increase the risk of adverse events, particularly when consumers use multiple NSAID-containing products.

Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid commonly used to treat inflammatory conditions. Corticosteroid use can impair a person’s ability to fight infections and can cause high blood sugar levels, muscle injuries and psychiatric problems. When corticosteroids are taken for a prolonged period, or at high doses, they can suppress the adrenal gland. Only licensed health care professionals can evaluate patients for the risk or existence of adrenal suppression. In addition, the undeclared dexamethasone in Himalayan Pain Relief Tea may cause serious side effects when combined with other medications.

Product was distributed Nationwide through Amazon (internet) and online only

The product is used as tea and is packaged in a light-yellow box containing 6 tea packets, printed with barcode 0841920015. The affected Himalayan Pain Relief Tea lots include the following “ALL LOTS”.

To date WS Global Inc., has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall.

Consumers taking Himalayan Pain Relief Tea should immediately consult their health care professional to safely discontinue use of this product. The risks of withdrawal from corticosteroids should be assessed by a health care professional. Abrupt discontinuation can cause withdrawal symptoms.
