Pearl Yates, age 92, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at Seminole Manor in Donalsonville, Georgia. The family will hold a service at a later date.
Pearl Alday Yates was born September 20, 1931, in Donalsonville, Georgia. She was one of 11 children born to Jim Alday and Pearly Missouri Robinson Alday. Pearl married the love of her life, Bennie Yates, who has preceded her in death. She worked for the VNA in the early days of that business. For many, many years she worked as a Pharmacy Tech in the Donalsonville Hospital Pharmacy. After she retired, she sat with those who were sick. Pearl loved to work in her yard and loved to cook. Pearl’s interests were, mainly and mostly, in her family. She loved caring for them and loved them each and every one with all her heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends.
Pearl Alday Yates was survived by her children, John D. Yates (Gail) and Sylvia Faircloth, both of Bainbridge, Georgia; grandchildren, Damon Yates, Ben Bland, and Jordan Faircloth (Dorena); and great-grandchildren, Dawson McDonald, Oliver Faircloth, and Otis Faircloth. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Dami Yates and grandson Devon Yates.
