Ms. Mary Ann Ritter Green, age 75, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services will be held Friday, September 15, 11:00 a.m., at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Dewitt Phillips will officiate. The service will conclude at the chapel. Mary Ann will be privately buried with her family in Attapulgus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00.
Mary Ann was born February 12, 1948, in Bainbridge, Georgia, one of the 10 children born to Vernaway Ritter and Ida Mae Strickland Ritter. She was a housewife and mother. Mary Ann dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings. She enjoyed eating out and loved to laugh. She liked to pass time by watching soap operas and westerns on television. Mary Ann lived a simple life, finding her joy through her large family and many friends. She will be greatly missed.
Mary Ann Green is survived by her children, Annette Newberry, Billy Mobley, and Joseph Mobley all of Bainbridge; brothers, Wayne Ritter of Havana, Florida and Malcom Ritter of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Jonathan Barton and Trey Faircloth (Christian); great grandchildren, Kenny Moye and Fisher Faircloth, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Dale Newberry, and siblings, Townzie Ritter, Johnny Ritter, Vernon Lee Ritter, William Ray Ritter, Jimmy U. Z. Ritter, Donnie Susan Ritter, and Lottie Jean Givens.
