Janet Earley Forrester

Janet Earley Forrester, age 88, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Bainbridge, Georgia with Reverend Melissa Traver officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private interment will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. Janet was born October 23,1934 in Sangerville, Maine the daughter of Drummond Frank Earley and Margaret Lillian Andrews Earley. She graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1953 and from Colby College in 1957. She later pursued and received a masters degree at Georgia State University and EdS at Valdosta State University. Janet was a teacher at Bainbridge High School for over 30 years. She was also known for her involvement with Georgia Retired Educators Association and Alpha Delta Kappa, Teacher’s Sorority. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge.

Survivors include her children, Kent Forrester (Karen) of Bainbridge, GA., Lyn Hatcher (Curt) of Bainbridge, GA., Deanna Martin of Tallahassee, FL., and Paul Forrester (Janice) of Tallahassee, FL.; grandchildren; Carlie Little (Conor), Bobby Forrester (Bess), Lindsay Cone (Russell), Lee Hatcher (Brandon), Charlie Martin, Madeline Forrester, and Owen Forrester; 5 great-grandchildren and two on the way; brother, Robert Earley (Dianne) of Dover- Foxcroft, ME.; sisters; Wilhelmina Shaw (Charles) of Dover-Foxcroft, ME. and Linda Parent (Greg) of Corinth, ME. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Levergene Forrester; brother, Drummond Earley, Jr.; and sister, Betty Rogers.
