Feeding the Birds

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God . . . And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse (vs. 11-13), which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh” (Revelation 19: 17, 21 KJV).

Some people set out every kind of bird feeder available in their yard to attract every kind of bird, just so they can watch them. Sometimes, they put out large amounts of food and large numbers of birds come to their supper. I put bird seed out in my yard and watch birds come and feed.

I don’t put flesh out in the yard to attract buzzards so I can watch them. But, I did on one occasion when my cat had gone out in the brush and killed several rats and put them on my porch to let me know he was doing his job. I placed these rats at the edge of the yard and watched several buzzards come and eat them.

At the end of the Great Tribulation, Jesus Christ will come and make war on the armies of the Antichrist as they attack Israel. He’ll deliver Israel and cast the beast and the false prophet that deceived the nations, alive into the lake of fire (vs. 19, 20) and Satan is bound for a thousand years in the bottomless pit (Rev. 20: 1-3).

The armies of the beast and the kings of the earth will be slaughtered by Jesus Christ. Their bodies will be left on the battlefield and will be eaten by those birds that feed on carrion. The beast of the field will also feed on them (Ezek. 39).

An angel will signal and invite these birds to what is called “the supper of the great God” (v. 17). These bodies of the thousands of soldiers that fought against Christ will not be buried but will lie on the open battle field until they’re consumed by buzzards and crows and wild beast.

What remains of their remains will then be buried by Israel in The valley of Hamongog (The multitude of Gog) (Ezek. 39: 11, 15).

We often see numerous buzzards devouring roadkill on the side of the road. A few days after this battle of Armageddon, in which all these soldiers die and their bodies begin to decompose, one could see what most of us have never seen before and that is human bodies being eaten by buzzards and crows and beast of the wild.

But this is what happens to those who are the enemies of righteousness and attack God’s people, Israel, and oppose Jesus Christ who is King of kings and Lord of lords (Rev. 19: 16).
