Charlotte “Rosemary” Powell, age 75, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023.
The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Allen Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.
Rosemary was born May 8,1948 in Bainbridge, Georgia, the daughter of Lawson Wimberly and Louise Wimberly. Rosemary worked as a beautician for many years. She was also known for Her beautiful paintings. She was a former member of the Decatur County Artists’ Guild in Bainbridge, Georgia and won Peoples’s Choice and Best of Show for her art. Rosemary enjoyed spending time with loved ones, sitting on her porch, good coffee and plenty of good food, which earned her the nickname “Piglet”.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Barfield of Climax, GA; grandchildren, Cindy Arnett, Mindy Owens, and Jenna Owens; her great-grandchildren, Haley McBride, Micah Arnett, Carson Arnett, Madison Smith, Austin Smith, and Samuel Parish; her great-great grandchild, Adelaya Abbott; her siblings, Lawson “Boy” Wimberly and Dolly Ann Cassels; her puppy, Lucy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Powell; siblings, Carol Sue Wimberly, Martha Love, and Buddy Wimberly.
The Powell family has entrusted the arrangements to Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
