Three Bainbridge FFA members selected by the State FFA Association to serve at the 96th National FFA Convention

Summer break for some high school students signifies a break from school-related activities, however, for Bainbridge FFA, summer break is a time to amp up resumes and applications for the upcoming year. This year’s beginning of summer break was no different as the Georgia FFA National Delegate Applications deadline was approaching.

To become a National Convention Delegate with the Georgia FFA Association, the student must be in the 11th or 12th grade and have an outstanding resume, cover letter, letters of recommendation, and service statement to be selected. Based on Georgia’s statewide FFA membership, the Georgia FFA Association has been allocated 30 official voting delegates for the 96th National FFA Convention. 22 FFA members are selected to join the state FFA officer team as official voting delegates for our state at the National Convention in October. Serving as a Georgia Delegate for the National FFA Convention requires these members to make a commitment to service. In addition to serving and representing the members of the Georgia FFA Association, these students will represent the image and direction of the Georgia FFA Association to fellow delegates, FFA members, teachers, state and national FFA staff, alumni, sponsors, and the general public. The delegates will also be expected to handle the official business of the National FFA Organization on behalf of Georgia’s 88,810 members, in a professional manner.

We are honored to have three Bainbridge FFA members selected as national voting delegates for the Georgia FFA Association. Those members are rising seniors, Addison Cook, Kell Donalson, and Carson Lynn. These members will travel to the 96th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana with the Georgia FFA delegation and spend the week discussing policies, business, and official matters of the National FFA Organization with other voting delegates from all over the country.

To be selected as a National Delegate is an honor and privilege that is afforded to a select group of FFA members each year. We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work and dedication these three FFA members have put into their FFA careers. Congratulations Addison, Kell, and Carson!

In her application, she said that “I have a longing to earn the most from all of my experiences in the FFA, no matter the magnitude. When I was presented with the opportunity to apply to become a National Delegate, I knew this was another way to strengthen my FFA career through service and leadership. My personal goal is to lead by example and encourage other members to do that same”.

In his application, he said, “I have a vested interest in serving the Georgia FFA Association as a delegate because I realize the importance of the decisions that are made and have an inborn desire to serve others in a higher capacity. Throughout my career as an FFA member, I have honed my leadership qualities by attending leadership conferences and state convention workshops where self-improvement skills and leadership skills were the main focus of development”.

Pictured above: Carson Lynn is the son of Jeff and Cara Lynn. In his application, he said that “The opportunity to serve as a National Delegate is a position I have longed for because this will allow me to expand my leadership and critical thinking skills while also allowing me to network with other members who are heavily invested in the FFA and agriculture, just like I am. I would like to serve the Georgia FFA Association at the 96th National FFA Convention as a National Delegate because it will be a new and exciting opportunity to further my passion for this organization and serve the association by advocating for the largest student-led organization in the nation”.

  1. Congratulations on the hard work you did to get this honor and responsibility. The convention experience will be awesome. I was a state officer in 1965-66 and attended the convention and was so excited! I still have great memories of that experience.

I recently wrote my memoir and included a chapter on my FFA experience. FFA changed my life and prepared me for my career as an agricultural engineer. My book is on my website listed below.
