“He (God) stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth on nothing” (Job 26: 7 KJV).
It might frighten some to know and might even surprise some to know that this earth we live on has no visible material support. There is no cable or chain that is fixed at the center of the north pole that goes into the heavens and has a strong angel holding the other end, thereby keeping the earth in its proper place in the universe.
The word nothing means just that, no-thing. Nothing means “not at all; in no degree; something that does not exist.”
So, the planet we call earth that has been a host for humanity since God created it and since Adam and Eve were first placed on it, has had no visible support since it was hung in the heavens among all the other planets.
Man has to find a support when he wants to hang something. He hangs the picture on a nail in the wall. He hangs his clothes on hangers in the closet. He will never be able to hang anything on nothing. We do not know what “nothing looks like because there’s nothing to see.
The total weight of the earth is 6.585 billion trillion tons or 6,585,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons and it hangs on nothing.
The Bible tells us that the earth was created by God and placed or hung in its respective place. And from the day it was created and hung it remains in its same respective place.
Earth is in place and is on course traveling along with other planets in the Milky Way Galaxy in response to the spoken word of God. Earth hangs in the middle of nowhere on nothing. It is where God’s work of redemption was finished and is where the devil, like a fly, traverses up and down and back and forth to do his evil work.
As we might with bated breath hang on every word a speaker says, the earth hangs on the word from God that commanded it and ordered it as it is. All of creation consists; rest, abides, and stands together, by the Word of God (Col. 1: 17).
If the earth is safely and securely supported by nothing but the Word of God we too will be safe and secure supported by nothing but the Word of God.
