Rudolph Harvell was born February 1, 1932, in Calvary, GA, the son of Seaborn “Seab” & Lura Smith Harvell. Buddy proudly served in the United States Army and worked as a residential contractor for decades. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Buddy was an “old school” perfectionist. He believed you got out of something what you put in it. Houses he constructed were evidence of just that. Buddy spent many hours tending his farm and gardening, feeding his alligators, and deer hunting when the season rolled in. Cats and dogs were always around and frequently served as his sounding board for secrets, ideas, and general figuring on how to make something work. Buddy enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns on television. He thought nothing compared to John Wayne and patterned his no nonsense dealings after “The Duke”. He was tall, rough, and tough but never turned down a “tea party” invitation from Kylie.

Survivors include his children, Bryant White and Charlotte White, both of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Kyle & Anna, Hollie, and Ali; his great-granddaughter, Kylie; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Harvell, and his siblings, William E. Harvell, Ellie Myrtice Harvell Brock, and Janie Harvell Spooner.

Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
