Rowland Parks “Buster” Bolton, Jr.

Rowland Parks Bolton, Jr., age 69, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 7th, 2022.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 15, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Gerald A. Little and Reverend John Erthein officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Buster was born September 22, 1952 in Bainbridge, Georgia, the son of Rowland Parks Bolton and Haidee Thompson Bolton. He graduated Bainbridge High School with the class of 1970 and received his Bachelors of Business Administration and Insurance from the University of Georgia. Upon graduation he earned his certification as a Certified Insurance Counselor and joined his father in the family business, Callahan Insurance Agency, until his retirement in 2019. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially his piney woods. A member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Buster was also a Past President of Bainbridge Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carroll Ricketson Bolton; his son, Parks Bolton of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Sarah T. Bolton of Washington D.C.; his sisters, Haidee “Prissy” Wilkin and her husband, Lawson, of Bainbridge, GA, Adene “Deanie” Waldrop and her husband, Harry, of Atlanta, GA and Florence “Beaver” Dollar and her husband, Clifford, of Bainbridge, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Buster was preceded in death by his parents.

  2. Oh Carroll, Prissy, Deanie and Beaver….and all the Nussbaums too I am so very sad to learn just today of Busters death. Too young. Fond memories of Hilton Head and Bainbridge.   3. So very sorry to hear of Buster’s passing! This past Sunday morning 8/7/22 I woke up to a text from my dad, Jack Pettyjohn telling me that his old fishing buddy Buster Bolton had passed away. Sending our love, hugs, prayers and deepest sympathies.

    My sincere regards for you all and Buster in his passing. We Bolton girls used to hear such fond stories of all of you back there. Sorry we have not been as connected as we could. It’s always such a loss to lose anyone close in the family and our hearts go out to you. But we can rejoice in his life.
