Mary Frances Gray, age 81, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

Mary Frances was born October 7, 1940 in Brunswick, Georgia, the daughter of Shelby Hardy Monroe and Helen Marian Monroe. She graduated from Georgia Southern University. She was a social worker for the State of Georgia for 11 years. She loved books and was a librarian. She was the bookmobile librarian in Valdosta. Mary Frances worked on the ground floor of getting the Bainbridge Decatur County Humane Society started.
Survivors include her husband, Harrywood Gray, Jr.; brother, Shelby Hardy Monroe, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Frances was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Helen Monroe Thompson.
