Jeffrey Allen Gainous, 56, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022.

A celebration of life service will be held at Spring Creek at a later date.

Jeffrey Allen Gainous was born November 8, 1965, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Louie & Olga Glover Gainous. He was a graduate of Whigham High School, Class of 1985. He earned an associates in electronics from RETS Electronic Institute. Jeff opened Bainbridge Business Systems in 2004 and most recently worked as maintenance director at Hampton Inn. He was Christian by faith.

Jeff was intrigued with technology. He worked on copiers and computers for most of his adult life. Often he spent hours resolving issues for family and friends free of charge. Family was always a priority and his granddaughter, Emileigh, was the light of his life. Jeff enjoyed fishing and camping. He was proud of his claim to fame as a member of the 1982 Bainbridge Bearcat State Championship football team.

Survivors include his son, Ryan Gainous of Bainbridge; his granddaughter, Emileigh; and his sister, Karen Jones and her husband, Tim, of Cairo; and a host of extended family. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his children, Taylor Gainous & Ben Gainous; and his brother, Carlton Gainous.

  1. Jeff was a good dude I’ve known him most of my life..I really hate that his time has came leaving a lot of people who care about him behind!! My heart goes out to Ryan and Emiliegh..prayers going up for this family..

  3. Several events so tragic that the thought of those events can knock a grown man to his feet and crying out to God, crying WHY,, WHY Lord of hosts,WHY! Taking Jeffrey Alen Gainous from us left here is the ninth wonder of the universe,, I,like most,am suffering,, trying to find reasons to continue on after such a loss, how does one recover, how does this work,I am a little upset at God for taking Jake from us all,how do I accept that he is gone and not hold a grudge,I need clarity,Jake will be never forgotten and I would like to start meeting with others who are left behind, missing Jeffery and trying to cope with his death knowing the best is not here anymore,give me strength of Lord
