On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 1044 hours, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Investigator (Inv.) Vincent Edmond was on duty and located in Bainbridge, Georgia. Inv. Edmond was traveling on Old Pelham Road and did a security check under the bridge located on Old Pelham Road near the intersection with Open Pond Road in Bainbridge, Georgia. Inv. Edmond had gotten a complaint from a citizen in the area that trespassing and illegal drug use was happening in this area. Inv. Edmond was located under the bridge and located a white Ford F-150 truck abandoned and stuck in sand under the bridge.

On July 16, 2022, at approximately 1153 hours, Decatur County Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Tallahassee Highway and Edwards Road, in reference to an Accident with Reported Injuries. Upon arrival, Sergeant Jordan Phillips made contact with Mack Day. Day was the driver of a small, white sedan involved in the accident. While talking to Day, Sgt. Phillips smelled the odor of Marijuana emitting from inside of Day’s vehicle.

On 7/7/2022 at approximately 1850 hours while on uniformed patrol in Decatur County, Ga Dep Christopher Moore observed a motorcycle (WHU719) traveling down Hwy 84 East Bound with no working brake lights. Dep Moore observed the driver, later identified as Mr. David Lee Chester, switch lanes on Hwy 84 multiple times, passing other vehicles without using a blinker. The vehicle also did not have a working rear brake light. Dep Moore then initiated a traffic stop by activating his lights and sirens, the vehicle pulled over to the righthand median. Dep Moore then advised Chester of the reason of the stop. Dep Moore asked Chester for his driver’s license, and he advised he did not have any on his persons due to a state trooper taking them in Thomasville. Dep Moore then had dispatch run Chester’s information through GCIC. Dispatch advised Chester’s driver’s license was suspended.

Sgt. Fowler later made contact with Jason Giannars and Jeanie Giannars, in reference to Jeannie wanting Sgt. Fowler to contact Jason for advising him not to come to her residence tonight seeing they had a bad argument earlier today.
