On Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 1755 hours, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Garrett Wooten was off duty and located at his residence. Inv Wooten received a phone call from Georgia State Patrol Trooper Brian Palmer. Trp. Palmer stated he made a traffic stop on Highway 27 South at Edwards Road and located suspected methamphetamine and a firearm on the driver, later identified as James Dismuke. Inv. Wooten agreed to meet Trp. Palmer at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office. Inv Wooten ended contact with Trp. Palmer, made ready and went enroute to the Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, July 4, 2022, at approximately 1443 hours, Sergeant William McClanahan was dispatched to assist Georgia State Patrol Trooper Jacob Sanchez, who was in a vehicle pursuit on Colquitt Hwy, heading north. Upon arrival, at Colquitt Hwy and Brinson Airbase Road, Sgt McClanahan saw a black GMC Yukon and a GSP patrol car parked on the wrong side of the road sideways. Sgt. McClanahan was then notified that Trooper Sanchez was on foot on the train tracks. Sgt. McClanahan began on foot after them on the train tracks. When Sgt. McClanahan made contact with Trooper Sanchez, he had already caught the suspect who fled and had him under arrest and handcuffed behind his back.

On Thursday, July 7, 2022, at approximately 1058 hours, Sergeant William McClanahan met with Sergeant Norman Cotton a Detention Deputy for the Decatur County Jail, in reference to a female inmate by the name of Angel Davis Obstructing and Hitting him.
