About the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.(2 Pet.3: 10 KJV).
The average person has been taught that global warming is a rise in the earth’s temperature in which the polar caps will melt and the seas rise and the coastal areas around the world will be under water.
And according to the scientist we are our own worst enemy and are responsible for bringing about this disaster, we and our cows that is.
Gas emissions from our combustible engines and gas emissions from our cows are destroying the ozone layer, some say, to where it isn’t able to block as much heat from the sun as it use to, and our earth is warming up.
But if, as one man argued, global warming was a fact and the coastal areas will soon be under water, why do banks and financial institutions lend money for development in these areas?
God said this planet will not have another worldwide flood. But it will, one day become so hot from an actual worldwide fire that everything on the planet is incinerated.
In our text, Peter tells us in clear apocalyptic terms that planet earth will be ravaged by fire and that everything that gives evidence to the sinful, organized, Satanic, world system of rebellious man is razed, and the earth is completely exposed. The earth will after the fire look as if it had never been inhabited. All the works of man will vanish without a trace.
An element is the simplest form of matter. An atom is the smallest form of an element. Modern chemistry distinguishes 103 elements. The fire that God uses to renovate (renew) the earth in the last days, will destroy all elements down to the last atom. This renovation of the earth by God is done to prepare it to be inhabited by the regenerated human race. This renovation takes place between the Great White Throne Judgment of the unsaved, and the beginning of the Eternal State.
The global warming advocated by some is not in God’s plan, but the one spoken of by Peter is really going to happen.
