Wayne B. “Buddy” Faircloth

Wayne B. “Buddy” Faircloth, 62, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Southwest Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating. A private interment will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens. John Watts, Ladon Gardner, Mike Jones, Charlie Godwin, Ken Harrison, Mark Maxwell, and Paul Maxwell will serve as active pallbearers.

Wayne Benton Faircloth was born May 14, 1959, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Wade & Ruth Hale Faircloth.  He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1978. Buddy married Lisa Powell in 1993 and they made their home in Bainbridge where he worked for years at NAPA and later at Dean Chrysler Jeep Dodge as the Service Manager. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church.

Even though he was quiet, Buddy never met a stranger. If nothing else, he would strike up a conversation about softball. Buddy loved everything about it. He played, organized, and promoted softball like he was a major league agent. Buddy made the game fun…and sometimes seriously competitive. Children of all descriptions quickly realized it took little to no effort to win Buddy over. He enjoyed working in his yard and Alabama football. Make no mistake, ROLL TIDE! was a battle cry for Buddy & Dennis.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lisa Powell Faircloth; his sister, Rose Baxley; his in-laws, Judy & Gene Powell, Teresa Powell Hebert, and Sheila & Joey McMillan; his nephews, Todd Baxley, Kason Hebert, and Aaron Sherrod; his nieces, Bailey Hebert, Misty Norton, Candi Thomas, and Gina Baxley Paxton; several great-nieces & nephews; and his fur babies, Bella, Bama, and Pearl. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his siblings, Dennis Faircloth and Betty Jane Faircloth; and his nephew, John David Sherrod.
