Joseph Ferrell “Joey” Haire, 63, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Rusty Haire officiating.

On February 19, 1958, a legend, Joseph Ferrell Haire, was born to Edward & Carolyn Haire in Bainbridge, GA. He became better known as Joey to all his friends. He spent all of his 63 years of life in Decatur County, where he met the love of his life and wife for 43 years, Peresia Haire. His family was his life. His daughters, Joey “Nikki” Haire (Justin Stinson) and their daughters, Kaylee & Bella Ashley and Terry Webb and their son, Brian. His very best friend since 9 years old, Mark Eakin, was so special to him and they spent most days together watching fights and westerns on tv when Mark came to visit. He also looked forward to the weekends when he would see his great-great-niece “GG” and share his “dew” with her. He would perk right up no matter how he felt as soon as she walked in. He had four siblings: Rusty Haire (Angelina) of Crestview, FL, Greg Haire (Peggy) of Bainbridge, GA, Ginger Haire also of Bainbridge, and Sissy Haire of Atlanta, GA. He was very close to his in-laws and considered them as much family as blood: Chril Phillips, Pam & Wyndell West, Paula & Dean Kirk, and Neal Ingram. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Joey was one of the strongest men you could ever meet. He was very proud of the 34 years of sobriety he had and would celebrate the anniversary of August 29th every year. He was known for years as the scrap metal man until becoming disabled after TWO separate wrecks involving semis and severe COPD. He spent his retirement days watching news and politics and would voice his opinions on the matters with anyone who would listen. The only thing he would rather talk about is his granddaughter, Kaylee, and how smart she is and, of course, how she had gotten that from him!
One could say he was spoiled from being waited on hand and foot by “his girls” for the past 40 years and he didn’t mind bragging about it any more than they minded doing it.
Joey was so special and so loved by so many and will be greatly missed until we see him again. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. We can only imagine the scene when he opened his eyes and saw them waiting with open arms for him.

I first meet Joey in 4th grade in Mrs Greens class when we became friends, always looked forward to meeting the guys at chandler when I came home on leave from the Army, If Joey called you friend that meant if you ever needed his help he would be there. I am proud to have been his friend. RIP Joey
I am so sorry to hear about Joey. He was a great guy. I will cherish memories of our escapades. God bless you, his family. Be strong.
We moved away from Bainbridge Ga in the summer of 1972, but I remember Joey Haire from grade school. So sorry to hear about a person my age passing away, let’s treasure what we have and the time we have left.
