Robert Emanuel Baba was born January 23, 1968 in Iran, the son of Emanuel & Alice Nobari Baba.  He married Lisa Gibbs in 1997 and they made their home in Turlock, California. Robert owned Sharkey’s restaurant in Turlock but most recently decided Southwest Georgia was calling which led to frequent travel between their homes in Turlock and Brinson. Robert attended Delwood Baptist Church.

Robert did everything with gusto and was always willing to make a deal. He loved his family, which included his customers and staff.  He was continually “on call” as the family repairman and seemed to solve any problem that arose. Cars were his passion and often the main topic of conversation. He was a friendly soul that seemed like someone you’d known forever after your first encounter.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Lisa Baba; his children, Brandon & Casssady Baba of Blue Ridge, GA, and Macy Baba & Jerrid Colman of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Sophie, Brandon Jr., and Robert Tripp due to arrive in the fall; his mother, Alice Nobari Baba; his siblings, Bob Baba and Arbella Narsa of Turlock, CA; his nieces & nephews, Brittany, Alexis, Andrew, Lacey and Somer; and a host of extended family. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Emanuel Baba.

  9. I’m absolutely wrecked by the news that Robert has gone on to the afterlife. I’ve been going to Sharkeys since his pool hall was on Geer rd. So many years ago. I would play pool so often I would even play pool with his kids. His wife and him would shop in Albertsons where I would work and talk about cars. He had such a kind heart and nice personality treated everyone the same. He will be sorely missed by the Community of Turlock. I hope his legend and his Pool Hall lives on. God Bless him and his family. My condolences to Lisa and his kids.
Rack em up in heaven we will play some 9 ball when we meet again.
