Mitchell Burke, age 59, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Thursday August 19, 2021.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stanley Phillips and Reverend Robert Johns officiating. A visitation will follow services. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Mitchell was born June 22, 1962 in Donalsonville, GA, the son of Edna Sue and C.W. Burke. Mitchell started his peanut career in 1980 at Seminole Peanut Co. (later Cargill Peanut Co.) and continued working with them until 2000. He was a Quality Control and Seed Manager during this time. He worked at Cellular One in Bainbridge from 2000-2003. Mitchell was a Chief Operations Officer at American Peanut Growers from 2003-2018. Mitchell loved Georgia Bulldogs Football, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include his sons, Zachary Mitchell Burke and his wife, Abby of Pell City, AL and Matthew Aaron Burke of Bainbridge, GA; his sister, Debbie Burke Cox of Colquitt, GA; his brother, Tim Burke and his wife Tonya of Recovery, GA; his grandchildren, Carter Aaron Burke and Emma Katherine Burke; and his dog, Gage.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Russ Burke; and by his brother-in-law, Nicky Cox.
