Anne “Rebecca” Dorminy Dollar

September 21, 1945 – June 29, 2021

Anne Rebecca Dorminy Dollar, Age 75, of Darien, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Eric McClellan, officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Jared Walker, Daniel Walker, Richard Ivey, Jason Murray, Kyle Wilkinson, Jordon Long, Jared Inlow, and Garrett Inlow will serve as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home prior to the service.

Rebecca was born on September 21, 1945, in Moultrie, GA the daughter of Abner Shippe Dorminy and Annie Lucille Langston Dorminy. She grew up in Pavo, Thomas County, Georgia and graduated Central High School. Rebecca received her MBA from Florida State University. She taught English at Bainbridge High School for 30 years. As an accomplished pianist she played for both Morningside and First Baptist Church’s for many years. She was married to the late Harvey Edmund Dollar.

Survivors include son, Michael Edmund Dollar, Bainbridge; sister, Abbie Dorminy Johnson, Thomasville; nieces, Kathy Johnson Wilson, Thomasville; and Jeanna Johnson Mayhall, Thomasville; nephew, David T. Johnson, Millen; sister-in-law, JoAnn Dollar, Dunwoody; six great nieces; two great nephews; three great great nieces; two great great nephews and close family friend Eric McClellan, who Rebecca loved and cherished dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abner Shippe and Annie Lucille Langston Dorminy; husband, Harvey Edmund Dollar; daughter, Mariannna Rebecca Dollar and sister, Bettie Jeanne Bradley.
