“And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God . . . But . . . if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God . . . The stranger . . . he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail” (Deut. 28:13, 15, 43, 44b).
The head of an animal is in front and above and leads the animal. In the head are the brains that control the rest of the animal, including the tail. In the head are the eyes and ears and the mouth that is all vital for the leading of the animal and its survival.
The tail of the animal was behind and beneath the animal. In the tail end was the tail that was controlled by the head. The head was served by the tail as the head directed the tail to swat away flies that bothered it.
Every nation, and I might say every individual, is either the head or the tail. Everyone is a leader or follower, a decision maker, or one that works for the decision maker. Someone is the “brains” of the outfit, a company or organization, and others serve to fulfill their plans. Christ is the Head of the Church and Christians members of His body.
Israel at one time was the head of all other nations. She was a world power during the times of king David and king Solomon. After their rule Israel began to weaken and decline through her disobedience to God and eventually became the tail, a service nation that all other nations served themselves of.
To be the leader nation all Israel had to do was obey God (Deut. 28: 1-14). When she refused to obey God, He cursed everything that pertained to her well-being until she was weak and an easy prey for her enemies (Deut. 28: 15-68). It was her submission to God and following after Him that made Israel strong and made her a leader. It was her holiness that made her the head and not the tail. God makes leaders of those who follow Him.
This argument is still valid today. That the nation that will submit to God and obey Him will be the head, the leader of all other nations. America has been for many years considered a Christian nation and has been the leading nation, of the world. All other nations, for the most part have followed her lead.
As the head is clean and the tail defiled, so the clean, and righteous nation will lead and be above the unclean and unrighteous nations. “Righteousness exalteth a nation: (puts her above and makes her a leader) but sin is a reproach (puts her beneath and makes her the tail) to any people” (Pr. 14:34).
America is slowly but surely slipping from the head of the line to the end of the line. If she doesn’t return to God, she may very soon find herself at the tail end, a third-world, service-nation.
More fear mongering nonsense. What a surprise. Do away with this column already. Only dinosaurs are interesting in this type of vitriol. The world and America is moving forward, with or without you. You want to go backwards, that is the problem, one of many you seem to have.
