Grady Marvin White, Jr. was born January 25, 1938 in Quincy, FL, the son of Grady Marvin White, Sr. and Emilie Mitchell White. He was a 1956 graduate of Attapulgus High School. A few years later he married the love of his life Nancy Trammell and they made their home in Decatur County. Morrie began working with Milwhite Co. of Attapulgus in 1957 and remained there for nearly 50 years, working his way up from the lab to his retirement as General Manager in 2005. He was an expert in clay mining and served as a consultant long after retirement. Morrie was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

Morrie was devoted to his family, and especially caring toward his wife Nancy in their later years. He was more than a provider and caregiver; he loved unconditionally and taught his children the importance of honesty, integrity and hard work. He made sure they were in church and lived as an example of what they were being taught. Even though “his area” was clay mining, he was always a farmer at heart. As CEO of Black Branch Farms, he, along with his brother and sisters, ran the family-owned farm with excellence. Morrie kept current on events of the day by reading the newspaper. He had a heart for his community and always made sure he and his neighbors and family remained safe by constantly monitoring the police scanner. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and even mowing the grass. He became an expert cook in his retirement and always made sure to watch Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith on a daily basis. His sense of humor never failed him and he always kept the people he loved in stitches.

Survivors include his children, Wendell & Becky White of Bainbridge, GA, Linda & Dan Bullock of Austin, TX, Sheila White also of Bainbridge, and Tracy & Mischele White of Tallahassee, FL; and his siblings, Wylie & Jewel White of Buckhead, GA, Frances & Wyndell Presnal of Douglasville, GA, Sannie & Craig Jones of Gainesville, GA, Anita & Roy Zimmerman of Bainbridge, GA, and Patty & Henry Cutts also of Bainbridge. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Annette Taylor of Chattahoochee, FL. In addition to his parents, Morrie was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Trammell White.
