Henry Winton Mack

 March 14, 1928 – November 28, 2020

Henry Winton Mack, 92, of Lynn Haven, FL, formerly of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Humphries officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Members of Penney Lambert Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Henry Winton Mack was born March 14, 1928 in Opp, AL, the son of John Henry and Clara Purdue Mack. He graduated from Bay County High School, Class of 1947, and went on to serve in the United States Navy. During World War II, Henry served in the South Pacific, on a bikini truck in Guam, and several other islands in the Pacific. He married Marguerite Byrd and they made their home first in the Panama City area and later in Bainbridge where they were members of First Baptist Church. Henry was also a member of VFW Post 4904.

Henry worked for a while as a Bayline ticket agent (railroad) and then as terminal manager for Texaco. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. His quick wit and lighthearted spirit kept folks entertained. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, any sort of televised sport, and gatherings on his back deck. Henry never took for granted the lessons he learned from the war and treasured his relationships with friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Fuller of Lynn Haven, FL; his grandchildren, Jason & Christi and Kimberly & Cliff; and his great-grandchildren, Peyton, Katie and Wyatt. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Byrd Mack; and his siblings, Evelyn Harris and Recho Mack.
