Library Phased Plan to Reopen

The Southwest Georgia Regional Library Board of Trustees approved the SWGRLS Phased Plan to Reopen based on the White House, CDC, American Library Association, and Georgia Public Libraries guidelines that requires a 14 day reduction in new COVID-19 cases or 14 days flattening of stable cases within our community before reopening to staff or the public.  Additionally OSHA has placed libraries, colleges, universities, and schools in the medium risk category for spread of COVID-19. Therefore, we are monitoring the Georgia Department of Public Health District 8-2 (which includes Albany) data and the actions of our local colleges and schools to determine the time for us to reopen to ensure the health and safety of staff, patrons, and our community. We encourage everyone to use our digital resources available at www.swgrl.org. If you do not have a library card, please register for a digital card at https://gapines.org/eg/opac/register. Please monitor www.swgrl.org, our Facebook page, and sign boards for updated information. To reach the library please contact [email protected].
