On May 15, 2020, at approximately 0215 hours Deputy Timothy Fowler was giving a courtesy transport to an individual at 751 Cedar Grove Road, Climax, Ga., 39819, when Deputy Fowler found a cell phone under his floor mat in the rear passenger compartment of his patrol vehicle. Deputy Fowler has further placed this cell phone in an evidence bag and has turned this phone over to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office CID Division.

VICTIM: STATE OF GEORGIA / BISHOP’S TRAVEL CENTER
OFFENDER: ABRAHAM HARRISON (ARRESTED)

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, at approximately 1000 hours, Investigator Justin Kelly was located at Bishop’s Travel Center, 7827 Tallahassee Highway, Attapulgus, Georgia. Inv. Kelly was at the location to retrieve surveillance footage of an unrelated incident. While at the location, Inv. Kelly observed Abraham Harrison standing on the Southwest corner of the building. Inv. Kelly knew Harrison from a previous case and also knew Harrison was trespassed from Bishop’s.

Inv. Kelly immediately made contact with Harrison and informed him that he was under arrest. Harrison informed Inv. Kelly that his name was Isaac Harrison and that Abraham was his brother. It should be noted that Isaac Harrison is also trespassed from Bishop’s Travel Center. Inv. Kelly knew without question that Abraham Harrison was lying. Inv. Kelly then made the first attempt to place handcuffs on Harrison. Harrison stated “I ain’t going to jail, Cracker.” Harrison pulled away from Inv. Kelly and attempted to walk away. Harrison was arrested and transported to the Decatur County Jail.

OFFENDER: JAMES BUTLER, JR. (ARRESTED)

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 1050 hours, Investigator Vincent Edmond was on duty and located at Bishop’s Travel Center, at 7827 Tallahassee Highway, Attapulgus, GA. Several Decatur County Deputies had responded and were located at Bishop’s Travel Center, in reference to an unrelated incident involving a subject obstructing Investigator Justin Kelly. While Investigator Edmond was getting a witness statement from a subject involving that incident, Investigator Kelly came and asked Investigator Edmond to confirm that a black male walking northbound on Tallahassee Highway near the Capital Title building was James E. Butler. Investigator Edmond was familiar with Butler and saw that the subject looked like James Butler from a distance. Investigator Edmond was also familiar that James E. Butler had an outstanding warrant from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office for Entering Auto. Investigator Justin Kelly, Investigator Adam Mobley, and Georgia State Patrol Trooper Andrew Davidson then hurried, got in their patrol vehicles and drove to Butler’s location on Tallahassee Highway and attempt to make contact. Investigator Edmond watched as law enforcement officers approached James Butler, who was walking on the shoulder of the highway, and Butler took flight and began running into the woods on the eastern side of the roadway with Investigators Mobley and Kelly, and Trooper Davidson in pursuit. Investigator Edmond and Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Wendell Cofer then hurried into a patrol vehicle and proceeded to the last location where James E. Butler and officers had been last seen. Butler was arrested and transported to the Decatur County Jail.

On May 13, 2020, at approximately 1909 hours, Deputy Timothy Fowler and Lieutenant John Presilla responded to 2943 Vada Rd., Climax Ga., in reference to Counterfeit Money.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at approximately 1816 hours, Sgt Gabriel Cofer responded to Bishop’s Travel Center, 7827 Tallahassee Highway, Bainbridge, Georgia, in reference to an Unwanted Subject. Vishal Patel, the owner of Bishop’s Travel Center, called and stated that Abraham Harrison was on scene causing a Disturbance and had previously trespassed from the business. Warrants were applied for and granted; Harrison was arrested and transported to the Decatur County Jail.

On May 13, 2020, at approximately 7:19 p.m., Decatur County Sheriff Office Deputy Anthony Stubbs responded to 155 John Bush Road, in reference to an Unwanted Person. Deputy Stubbs determined that Kimberly Long did not live at the residence. Deputy Stubbs advised Kimberly that she was being Trespassed from 155 John Bush Road.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at approximately 1101 hours, Deputy Ariel Thomas and Deputy Michael Cox responded to 154 Jean Drive, in reference to a Fight that had already occurred. While deputies were in route to the call; deputies observed a white vehicle in the ditch at 720 Faceville Highway down the road from the Quick Buys store in the curb. Deputies got out with the vehicle and gained knowledge that they were out with the two female subjects that fought on 154 Jean Drive. The female subjects were later identified as Jill Toliver and Stacy Woodell.

On Friday, May 8, 2020 at approximately 2123 hours, Sgt. Charles King was on duty patrolling in Decatur County, Georgia. Sgt. King was contacted by Christie Floyd, in reference to her father, Michael Floyd’s, 2005 Chrysler 300 being stolen.
