James Alan King, 51, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Brinson Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Crapps officiating.

James Alan King was born October 28, 1968 in Alexander City, AL, the son of James Henry King, Jr. and Zadie Lee Baggerly King. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1987 and he loved the Bearcats. He worked at Decatur-Seminole Training Center and ARC in Albany until 2018. Alan was a member of Brinson Baptist Church.
With a sweet, well-mannered and kind spirit, Alan made an impression on everyone he met. No one was a stranger and he never forgot a soul he encountered. He had many friends everywhere he went but his biggest love was his family. He enjoyed motoring around town on his bicycle or four-wheeler and checking out what was happening in the big city of Brinson. Just like any good ol’ boy, Alan loved to ride, especially on the school bus, and listen to country music. Not many have been described as “never in a bad mood” or “never complained”, but those phrases described Alan perfectly.
Survivors include his parents, Zadie Peters and Jimmy King; his sister, Lee Ann King Porter and her husband, David, of Eldorendo, GA; his niece, Emily Phillips; his nephew, Benjamin Bowers; his great-nephew Eli; his great-niece, Molly; and his aunts, uncles and several cousins. Alan was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Joyce King; his stepfather, B.J. Peters; and his grandmothers, Mary D. King and Annie Lee Baggerly.
