Samuel Patrick “Sam” Horton, 62, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Samuel Patrick Horton was born June 13, 1957 in Quincy, FL, the son of Steve and Hazel Goodwin Horton. He worked as a carpenter for M.R. Butler Company and was Methodist by faith.
Sam had a heart for others. Many in North Florida and South Georgia knew him to be that guy always lending a hand. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping in cooler weather. Sam & Maggie blended two families twelve years ago and family gatherings took on a new meaning. Watching the children and grandchildren explore the outdoors and learn his carpentry skills brought joy to his heart.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Maggie Horton; his children, Phyllis Kelley of Chattahoochee, FL, Paula & Curt Capps of Blountstown, FL, Pam Kelley of Sneads, FL, Robin & Tony Jones of Quincy, FL, Phil Kelley of Greensboro, FL, Rhonda Horton of Chattahoochee, FL, Ronnie Horton of Quincy, FL, Amber & Michael Hagan of Hosford, FL and Tiffany & Daniel Johnson of Bainbridge, GA; his siblings, Verdie Mae Hodges of Chattahoochee, FL and Steve Horton of Greensboro, FL; his twenty grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren. Sam was preceded in death by his parents.
