Maryann Brackin Sasser McKnight, 76, of Bainbridge, GA, formerly of Dothan, AL, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. (CST) on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan, AL. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. (CST).

Maryann Brackin was born March 11, 1943 in Newville, AL, the daughter of Donald and Mable Johnson Brackin. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan. Maryann joyfully served Brinson Baptist, Morningside Baptist and Mt. Pleasant Baptist in Decatur County, GA and Fairmount Baptist in Red Level, AL with her husband, Rev. Bruce Sasser.
Maryann knew the importance of ministry and knew ministry began at home. She was always supportive of her husband’s endeavors and served faithfully in each church they were called to minister. Her family always came before self and each person felt special in their own right. Maryann is described as a great cook “that could cook everything”, another ministry to her friends and family. She was also quite a sports fan supporting Atlanta Braves baseball and the University of Alabama football teams with a heart for winning.
Survivors include her children, Allen & Sharon Sasser of Andalusia, AL and Cheryl Sasser & Danny Holcombe of Bainbridge, GA; her sister, Linda Waters of Dothan, AL; her grandchildren, Paige, Will, Beau, Blake and Emily; and her eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Maryann was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bruce Sasser.
