Five cadets complete Fire Academy

On Friday, August 30th, Bainbridge Public Safety Cadets Kyle Wilford, Michael Bush, Brandon Deen, Marcus White, and Samuel Whitley completed the Basic Firefighter Training Program held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth.

The program, offered through the Georgia Fire Academy at GPSTC, is the top firefighter training program in the state of Georgia and is designed for applicants who are interested in becoming career firefighters and earning state certification as a firefighter. The eight week program consists of 345 hours of rigorous training that includes classroom-based lecture and practical skills building sessions. As mandated by the Georgia Fire Standards and Training Council, all career firefighters in Georgia must complete this basic training in order to earn state certification.
