Elease A. Hollingsworth

Mrs. Elease Adams Hollingsworth, age 88, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at her home in Grady County, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Hollingsworth will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 11, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 5079 Old Highway 179 North, Whigham, Georgia. Rev. Tim Harrell and Rev. Nathan Fowler will officiate. The service will conclude at the church. Mrs. Hollingsworth will be interred in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, beside her husband, Curtis J. Hollingsworth. Lester Bishop, Wilbur Buckins, Blair Sullivan, Bryan Hollingsworth, John Williams, and Tom Williams will serve as pallbearers. Patrick Laufenburger, Zachery Laufenburger, Todd Laufenburger, Kris Buckins, Aaron Fowler, Trent Fowler, and Heath Fowler will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, 5:00-7:00 pm, Saturday.

Elease Adams Hollingsworth was born March 2, 1931 in Whigham, Georgia, to Roy Adams and Cassie Miller Adams. She lived her entire life in Whigham. Elease was a dedicated member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She loved her Adult Sunday School Class and enjoyed being a part of the W.M.U. Cooking was her passion. She cooked at Whigham Elementary School for 16 years. Elease enjoyed people and they enjoyed her company. She worked 12 years at Gator’s Country Store. She loved working in her yard and traveling. Family was her heart. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them. Elease will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Elease A. Hollingsworth is survived by her children, Vivian Bishop (Lester) of Lake Seminole, Georgia, Judy Sullivan of Whigham, Roger Fowler (Martha) of Lake Seminole, Randy Fowler (Amy) of Whigham, Debra Laufenburger of Whigham, Paul Hollingsworth (Lisa) of Whigham, and Lynn Buckins (Wilbur) of Whigham; sister, Alice Gainous, Jean Knight, and Doris Whisham (Paul); 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hollingsworth was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Aaron Fowler and Curtis J. Hollingsworth; and brothers, Emmett Adams and Ravon Adams.
