Lena Bland was born May 24, 1931 in Donalsonville, GA, the daughter of D.A and Berma Braswell Bland. Lena worked at Williamson/Dickies for many years as a seamstress. She was a Baptist by faith and had a heart made of gold. Lena would do anything she could to help anyone in need. That old saying “She’d give her shirt off her back” to help folks out often fell short of what she was willing to give.
Lena was strong willed and had to have things her way. Going fishing was one of her all time favorite things to do. Lena loved sitting out on the porch and working in the yard. She always had a garden to help cook those wonderful home-made meals for the family.
Survivors include her daughter, Annette Kruzich; her daughters-in-law, Veda Bellflower and Diane Bellflower; her siblings, Louise Carson of Brinson, Tommy Bland (Peanut), and his wife, Becky, of Donalsonville, and Alice Jordan, also of Donalsonville; her grandchildren, Christy Bellflower, Kevin Bellflower, Shane Bellflower, James Gilbourn, Trent Bellflower, Casey Bellflower, Scott Bullock, Marti Franklin, Danyell Haught and Mitch Bullock; and her many great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her sons, Edwin Bellflower, Jimmy Bellflower and Timmy Bellflower; and her siblings, Bessie Amber Maxwell, Dennis Bland, Percy Bland and Lucy Thomas.
