Dorothy Crawford O’Neill age 88, known to her family and friends as Dot or Aunt Doss passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Tallahassee Florida.
Dorothy O’Neill was born December 23, 1930 to John Harvey and Manassie Griffin Crawford in Decatur County, Georgia. She was married to George Arthur Gray, who proceeded her in death December 1955. and on March 19, 1961 she married Robert James O’Neill, who proceeded her in death in November 9, 1990. She has lived in Ramstein, Germany; Del Rio, Texas; St. Joseph, Missouri; Pasadena, Texas; Austin, Texas and Cedar Park, Texas before moving back to Bainbridge, Georgia in 2007 after being away for 46 years. Before retiring in 2002, She worked 12 years at the VA Medical Center, Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her sons, Arthur Jerome O’Neill and wife Teresa of Portland Oregon and Robert Francis O’Neill and wife Terresa of Leander, Texas: two grandsons and two granddaughters, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Only surviving sibling is her sister Carolyn Stringer and husband Bob of Irving, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Martha Jane Crawford, Bobby John Crawford, Harvey Crawford and Laura E. Crawford.
A memorial will be held on May 28, 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, 202 West Street Bainbridge, GA 39817. Visitation with the family is at 5:00. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are to be made to Salvation Army, P.O. Box 786 Bainbridge, Georgia, 39818.
