Carlton Jackson Brinson, Jr. was born April 11, 1925 in Foley, FL, the son of Carlton Jackson Brinson, Sr. and Martha Davis Brinson. Upon graduating from high school, C.J. proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Olie L. Bishop and they made their home in Decatur County. C.J. was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

A strong work ethic was part of the cloth C.J. was cut from. He worked at United Plastics until his retirement. He spent many hours gardening and working in his yard knowing this was not quite like “work” at all because he enjoyed being outdoors. C.J. loved music and attended many southern gospel conventions. He learned during war time to listen carefully and in his later years could hear a song in the gentlest breeze.

Survivors include his children, David Brinson and his wife, Judy, of Bainbridge, Jack Brinson and his wife, Gena, also of Bainbridge, and Gloria Brinson Hubbard and her husband, Albert, of Bluffton; his sister, Marie Raulerson; his grandchildren, Scott, Twyla, Carol Ann, Al, Mark, John and Jim; his great-grandchildren, Erin, Catherine, Brinson, Will, J.C., Keyleigh, Haylee, Trey, Kace, Will and Hanna; and his great-great-grandchildren, Luke and Aubreigh. In addition to his parents, C.J. was preceded in death by his wife, Olie Bishop Brinson; and his brother, Bernard Rowena.
