The turnout for the Donalsonville GA Tea Party was pretty good, and had support from Bainbridge there.

  1. I think it would be a fantastic idea for Bainbridge to have a tea party also. If one is organized, please keep us informed as to when, where and the time. I would love to be there.

  2. An emphatic “YES!” It is time that we got the attention of our government representatives. This administration is instituting programs that they have no idea how they will be paid for. “WE THE PEOPLE”–Democrat, Republican, Libertarian–have to make our voices heard now! We must stand together. We want our country back!

  4. So doing this in Donalsonville is going to accomplish what? Please inform me. Good idea; bad location.

  5. Agreed.
I wish someone had organized one in Bainbridge.

We will be there and hopefully other media will cover it as well. We can only hope that as a part of a huge outcry throughout the United States, a few of our Washington politicians will hear us.

  6. We will see, Larry. Doing one in Bainbridge would have little effect either,I am afraid. What I mean’t was like in Tallahassee or even better, Atlanta, etc.

  8. I don’t know about a tea party! Someone said that Boston had a tea party once, and they were not too happy with it’s outcome.

  9. Most of the folks protesting looked like they were old enough for Social Security and Medicare.
I guess I missed all the Medicare cards and SS checks being shredded.
Look at all the money farmers get from the government.

  10. Sorry to say it, but this is no better than the present gangs. This is not the way to solve this. You are wasting your good time. Start dealing on the lawmakers until they get the message.

  11. As apathetic as most people are, unless it affects them directly,
don’t you think the politicians will see this is an issue that moves people to actually do something?

    Comment by Larry — April 16, 2009 @ 4:17 pm
  12. Let me tell all of you good people. This tea party is not going to do any good. For no one is listening.
What we done here was this.” for one week no and I mean no one drove any where.we parked our cars and took the bus.
well due to that, our gas prices went way down.sure you had some stupid fools who said they didn’t care about the gas, but they were the first ones in line.
so why don’t all of you do something that will have a greater more in packed on the government. or did you forget that all the oil compines lined the pockets of EVERYONE who has a say so about gas and tax’s.

  13. “As apathetic as most people are, unless it affects them directly” How true how true!

Yes, absolutely politicians ears will perk up, when “We The People” get organized and start generating a powerful voice, they will either make provisions, or realize they will be voted out. Everyone’s voice counts, and in alot of instances one strong willed, powerful voice can and does make a difference!

  14. I attended the TEA PARTY. Unlike the view of beachdawg most of the people there were under the age of 50. Yes a few older were there. They are just as concerned about the direction our country is headed as anyone else.

Understand this: this is not a republican, democrat, libertarian, or just a tax issue. This is an issue of the government spending money we do not have. This is an issue of our freedoms being taken way. This is an issue of the government deciding who will be the CEO of a company. This is an issue of the unions trying to take away the choice of a secret ballot. This is an issue of the federal government becoming too big.

Taxes will have to be raised to support the programs that this administration is proposing. I don’t want my grandchildren having to pay for the arrogance of a government that only wishes to promote a socialist agenda. As for social security cards and Medicare cards, the little money that most people get back, is monies they have paid in. GET OVER IT.

I guess if your are one of those who are standing in line waiting for the fed to take care of you, then it does bother you to see people who have worked all of their lives and EARNED A LIVING, get some of it back.
Gas prices(smart) Give me a break. Do you think that you can park you car and bring gas prices down? You talk about all the profits that oil Companies make. Oil companies operate on a profit margin of roughly 4% per gallon and you scream your head off about indecent profits. You don’t seem to have anything to say about the 15% tax per gallon that the federal government takes. No it’s,lets blame it on the big bad business for making us pay . Did the feds antie up any money for the oil companies to do exploration? NO.If you want oil profits to go down then contact the representatives who will not allow new exploration, and who get money from the tree hugger’s and block the construction of new refinery’s.

    Good Day

  15. I firmly believe that a tea party is necessary. We must wake up our fellow citizens! We must wake up the slumbering churches. We must educate ourselves and everyone of how goverment is suppose to work.

The goverment is US! We THE PEOPLE! We must speak up and speak out before tyranny reigns supreme.
