Raymond Brown of Whigham, GA, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born November 24, 1932 in St. Petersburg, FL, the son of John Paul Brown and Mabel Hall Brown. He was a retired Captain with the Florida Highway Patrol and resided in the Whigham community for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mary Jones Brown, Whigham, GA; son, Raymond J. Brown, Climax, GA; daughter, Carol S. Padgett, (John), Whigham, GA; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Robinson, Stacey Robinson, Michael Brown, Steven Brown and John Brown. Six great-grandchildren, Karlee Brown, Marley Robinson, Jay Brown, Jesse Brown, Cory Brown and Avery Brown.
The graveside funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Tim Harrell, officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

I am so sad to find out about my dad’s best friend having passed. Bet Heaven is a blast up there with Wade and Raymond. Mrs. Brown, I am truly sorry for your loss. Jeff and Carol, likewise. I have lots of great memories of all of you. God bless!
