The chart below is a guide that we will follow based on guidance from state and local health officials to determine our delivery model for this school year. The information in this document is intended as a guide and is not absolute. It can and will change as the situation dictates and demands.
Level of Community Spread of COVID-19 (As defined by state and local health officials.)
Level of Community Spread |
Instructional Model |
High/Substantial Spread | Distance Learning Model
School buildings are closed for students. All students will participate in distance learning. Students will be provided DCBOE issued devices. Students will receive assignments and instruction through digital learning context. Non-digital leaning contexts will be provided for students who cannot engage in digital learning. |
Moderate/Minimal Spread** | Alternating Schedule
In this level of community spread students may rotate between distance learning and face-to-face instruction from week to week based on data from state and local health officials. |
Low/No Spread** | Traditional Schedule
Students will attend school for face-to-face instruction on a traditional schedule as usual. |
**During any traditional instructional delivery model, we will be implementing increased sanitation protocols to help increase the safety of all students and staff. These protocols include but are not limited to: additional cleaning and spraying of classes and high traffic areas with sanitation machines, practice social distancing when possible, increase hand washing of students and staff, increase use of hand sanitizer when and where applicable, optional face coverings of students and staff, etc.
- There is a very real chance that we could begin in a traditional setting and within a week or two shift to an online setting. If a shift occurs we would probably stay in this online setting for a minimum of two weeks prior to a traditional return.
- We will do everything we can to keep you informed in advance and create the fewest distractions and changes to the schedule.
- We will continue to work with state and local health officials to provide the safest environment that we can provide.
