With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the life of Larry Hartzog, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was a devoted follower of Christ, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pharmacist, teacher, and friend whose legacy of faith and love will live on for generations. For 65 beautiful years, he was married to the love of his life, Mary Hartzog. Together they built a family rooted in faith, love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. He was the kind of husband every wife hopes for, the kind of father every child deserves, and the kind of grandfather and great-grandfather whose love made every family member feel special. Above all else, he loved God. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, sharing God’s Word and teaching countless people what it meant to follow Jesus. Through his actions, kindness, and servant’s heart, he showed all of us how to love like Jesus.

As a pharmacist and owner of his pharmacy, he cared deeply for his community. To every child who walked through his doors, he had a special way of making them smile, often sending them home with a paper airplane and a feeling of being loved. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued.

He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, and enjoying life to the fullest. Whether he was on his Harley, his motorcycle, or driving his beloved Corvette, you could often hear his joyful and unforgettable “YEEHAW!” echoing wherever he went.

Those who knew him will forever remember the little things that made him so special: the way he could wiggle his ears on command, toot like a train horn with his hands, greet everyone with the biggest smile and warmest hug, and his signature greeting, “Hey darlin’.” His joy was contagious, and his presence could brighten any room. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are comforted knowing that he is now in the presence of the Savior he loved so dearly. His life was a beautiful example of faith, kindness, humility, and unconditional love. He leaves behind a family and community forever changed by his influence and forever grateful for the gift of knowing him. His greatest legacy is not found in the pharmacy he built, the lessons he taught, or the hobbies he enjoyed—it is found in the countless lives he touched and the way he taught all of us how to love like Jesus.

Well done, good and faithful servant.
