Allie Jean Howell

December 11, 1933 – December 18, 2024

Allie Jean Howell passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Services for Mrs. Howell will be held Sunday, December 22, 3:00 p.m., at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, Georgia. The Rev. Gwan Garrison will officiate. Interment will follow in Sylvania Cemetery. Tim Porter, Keith Keel, John Keel, Doyle Cook, Ray NeSmith, and Brad Howell will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends before the service, starting at 1:00 p.m.

She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Horace Howell, and her eight brothers and sisters. Allie Jean was the oldest daughter of Lester and Rossie Bedenbaugh NeSmith. Born in Altha, Florida, she lived on the East, West, and South coasts of Florida and spent her last 47 years in Chattahoochee, Florida. She was a homemaker for 30 years and later retired from Florida State Hospital. She is survived by her three children, Ramona Trullinger of Chattahoochee, FL, Phyllis Wrench of Brooksville, FL, and Scott Howell of Albany, GA. Allie Jean had seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was Aunt Sis or Aunt Allie Jean to 52 nieces and nephews.

Allie Jean was known for her cooking and delicious cakes. She loved to travel and had two driving tours with her family to half of the US states from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Later, she visited Europe three times. She especially enjoyed Rome, Venice, Florence, Paris, and London. Her passport was always active for the next adventure. If you said, “Go,” she was waiting at the door.

Allie Jean loved the Lord and her family and friends.
