Mr. Zane Grey Wise, Jr., age 67, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, at his home in Bainbridge, Georgia, surrounded by his family. Services for Mr. Wise will be held Monday, November 18, 2:00 pm, at the First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. David Grubbs will officiate. Interment will follow in the Nazarene Church Cemetery with military honors. David Smith, Aaron Foxworthy, John Mark Bryant, Tanner Hyatt, Billy Smith, Bryce Killingsworth, and Zachary Givens will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 1:00 pm.
Zane was born December 2, 1956, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Zane Grey Wise, Sr. and Marion Maxine Hutchinson Wise. His father was in the Army, and the family moved all over the world. Zane graduated in the Bainbridge High School class of 1975. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Zane was a devoted member of the VFW for many years. Motorcycles were his passion. He loved them all but mainly owned Hondas. He loved to go to the movies, but, most of all; he loved to go to church. Zane loved his church family and loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of the Bainbridge First Church of the Nazarene. Zane was a man who loved his family and many friends. He will be deeply missed.
Zane Wise is survived by his sisters, Darlene Wise Brogdon, Pamala Hyatt Staples (Ray), and Yvonne Whittaker (Kennie); his nieces and nephews, Billy Smith, Jessica Lynn (Travis), Tanner Hyatt, and Robert Alton Smith; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Neal Wise (Ann), brother-in-law, James Lamar Brogdon, and nephew, Christopher W. Brogdon.
