Jack W. Harrell, age 71, passed away on August 24, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Services for Mr. Harrell will be held on Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 am in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home with Minister Jonathan Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am. Mr. Harrell will be interred in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax, Georgia. Serving as pallbearers will be Zakary Batten, Shane Merritt, Tim Dismore, Terry Harrell, Jr., Charlie Preston, and Ernest Sweat.
Jack Harrell was born on April 23, 1952, in Cairo, Georgia, to his parents, Carson Winston Harrell and Lela Beulah Sholar. Mr. Harrell moved to Florida, where he graduated from Paxton High School in Jacksonville. He loved to fish and ride four-wheelers. He enjoyed old cars and worked as a steel worker. He was a loving, caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Jack will be missed by his family and many friends.
Jack Harrell is survived by his son, William Batten (Tracy) of Jacksonville, and his sister, Mary Grantham of Monticello, Florida. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and four brothers.
