Joey Lee Anderson

June 29, 1957 – February 23, 2025

Joey Lee Anderson, a beloved husband, father, Paw Paw, and uncle, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Mitchell County, leaving behind a grieving family.

Joey was born on June 29, 1957, in Bradenton, Florida. He was the son of Larry Joe Anderson and Jimmie Lou “Honey” Kelly Anderson.

He spent most of his childhood in Pelham, Georgia, and attended Pelham High School. On November 1, 1975, Joey married the love of his life, Theresa, celebrating 50 years together this year. In Joey’s working career, he was a mechanic and a semi truck driver until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He had a passion for gardening, his dogs, and his family, especially his grandchildren.

Joey is survived by his wife, Theresa; his mother, Jimmie Lou “HONEY”; his children, Candice Sunshine Deen (Tim) and Kimberly Grace Sherrod (Jamie); his sisters, Merrie Johnson and Sandra Jones (Tommy), and his brother Micheal Anderson. He was Paw Paw to Jesse James Humphries (Taylor), Mckynlee Deen, Parker Sherrod, Charlie Sherrod, Brandon Deen (Macy), Malori Deen, Garett Deen, Corey Deen (Sam), and Wesley Deen; as well as 7 great- grandchildren and Daisy Mae on the way, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Joe Anderson, and two brothers, Jerry Anderson and John Anderson.

Joey Anderson will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A private memorial is being planned for immediate and close family.
