Mr. Charles Edward Newsome, age 62, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Bainbridge, Georgia.
Services for Mr. Newsome will be held Monday, January 20, at 2:00 pm, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Newsome will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 1:00 pm.
Charles Edward Newsome was born December 29, 1962, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Lynwood Everette Newsome and Jeanette Edison Newsome. Charles was a good ‘ole country boy. He was generous, kind, and maybe a little hard-headed, a selfless person, always willing to help. Charles worked as a tax accountant. He spent long hours looking for ways to help his clients. He loved to work in his yard, ride his lawn mower, and care for his dogs. Even though he had a disability, he never let that slow him down or stop him from something he wanted to do. Charles was an all-around good guy and will be deeply missed.
Charles Edward Newsome is survived by his siblings, Lynwood Everette (Eddie) Newsome, Jr. (Patricia) of Bainbridge, Debra Williams of Colquitt, Georgia, Teresa Crosson (Marion) of Whigham, Georgia, and Rose Lee (Lee) Newsome of Bainbridge; 13 nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wendy Kay Newsome Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society, 808 Zorn Road, Bainbridge, Georgia 39817.
