William E. (Bill) Geisinger

September 4, 1942 – October 12, 2024

Mr. William E. (Bill) Geisinger, age 82, of Jakin, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024. Services for Mr. Geisinger will be held graveside, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, in the Jakin City Cemetery, Jakin, Georgia. The Rev. George Masciarelli will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.

Bill was born on September 4, 1942, in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, to R. A. Geisinger and Elsie “Ticker” (Buck) Geisinger. As a young man, he moved south for college and, in 1972, received a B.S. in Business Administration from Florida State University. He was a 25-year employee of Georgia Pacific in the maintenance department, and he raised cattle well into retirement.

He treasured spending time on the family farm, managing the forestry program and stocking the fishpond for his grandsons. A member of Jakin Methodist Church, Bill loved woodworking and carpentry, blue grass music, observing wildlife while riding the trails on the family farm and watching Florida State football, “Go, Noles”.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife and best friend, Marilyn (Williams) Geisinger, his wife of 56 years; his daughters, Gretchen and Angela; grandsons, Creek, J.P. and Fletcher; son-in-law Billy; and a host of Pennsylvania cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for gifts to be made to either the Jakin Cemetery Fund or the Jakin Volunteer Fire Department. Make these donations out to the City of Jakin, P. O. Box 119, Jakin, Georgia 39861, and note the fund of choice in memory of Bill Geisinger. If not either of these organizations, please donate to the charity dear to you.
