Paul Robert Nugent was born December 20, 1946, in Leicester, England, the son of Ernest & Pauline Beaver Nugent. After high school graduation, Paul served for a brief period in the military in the United Kingdom. He was a carpenter by trade and known for his ability to build anything. Paul was a Christian by faith.
Though England was his birthplace, Paul thought the scenery in South Georgia and North Florida was most beautiful. He loved places like Carrabelle, Port St. Joe, and Lake Seminole. The lighthouse and the World War II museum were considered “must stops” when he was enjoying a drive.
Taking a break from building or repairing something in the shop, meant you could find Paul outdoors. The yard was his domain. He spent countless hours working to achieve perfection. Paul never failed to capture the beauty of creation in his mind’s eye.
Survivors include his children, Hannah Green of Thomasville, and Robert Nugent and James Nugent both of England; his grandchildren, Jo Anna Green, Jake Green, and Emerson Green; and his dear friend, Betty Runnels. Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
