“Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing” Psalm 145: 16 KJV).
God meets the needs of all His creation. One religion, Deism, teaches that God created the world but does not actively participate in its running or in human affairs and is simply irrelevant. They try to describe the world running with an absent God as the clock that was wound up and left to itself till it wound down. If this were true, it would mean that the world was being carried forward on the momentum from the original winding without any further involvement by its Creator.
But the Bible teaches that God is deeply and intimately involved in every aspect of His creation. He feeds the beast of the field (Ps. 104: 10-28, 147: 9). He takes care of the sparrow and gives the lily its beauty (Mt. 6:26, 10: 29; Lk. 12: 27, 28). And He cares for His own in each and every situation (Ps. 4: 8; 5: 12, 63: 8; 121: 3; Rom. 8: 28). He supplies our every need (Gen. 22: 8, 14; Deut. 8: 3; Phil. 4: 19). He never leaves or forsakes His own (Heb. 13: 5).
Paul writes and tells us that by Jesus Christ, all things “consist” (Col. 1: 17). In other words, God is not absent, but through His Son Jesus Christ, all of creation stands and holds together. Jesus is the center of unity in the universe. This means a purposeful personal management with total “hands-on” control: God is completely in charge of all the world. His hand may be hidden, but His sovereign rule is absolute. And when the Christian can not see His hand, they must trust His heart (holy character).
The Christian understands that God permits evil (Acts 14: 16); punishes evil (Ps. 81: 11-12; Rom. 1: 26-32); brings good out of evil (Gen. 50: 20; Acts 2: 23; 4: 27-28; 13: 27; 1 Cor. 2: 7-8), uses evil to test and discipline the believer (Matt. 4: 1-11; Heb. 12; 4-14; and one day will deliver the Christian from the presence of evil altogether (Rev. 21: 27; 22: 14-15).
Therefore, the Christian should never fear that they are in the grip of some blind force such as chance, or fate; but must realize that all that happens to them is according to God’s plan, and they are to trust, obey, and rejoice because everything works to their spiritual and eternal good (Rom. 8: 28).
