On the afternoon of Wednesday, December 15th, Bainbridge Public Safety Officers and Decatur County Sherriff’s Deputies responded to the Bainbridge Country Club on Country Club Road in reference to a twenty-one year old male who had been shot in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers found the victim unresponsive due to a single gunshot wound to the chest area. CPR was begun and Decatur-Grady EMS arrived at the scene to take over life-saving efforts. We are saddened to report that Dalton Harrell, age 21, of Bainbridge succumbed to his wounds and passed away. An investigation was conducted by Bainbridge Public Safety Investigators with the assistance of Decatur County Sheriff Office Investigators. The incident was determined to be accidental and no arrests were made.
