Ernest Wilton Trammell, Jr. of Thomasville, Georgia

September 7, 1947 – December 20, 2021

Ernest Wilton Trammell, Jr., 74, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor. Funeral Services will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve Brooks officiating. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be; Randy Trammell, Rusty Trammell, Mike Bertschy, Bryce Trammell, Brett Trammell, and Todd Villars.  Ernest was born on September 7, 1947 in Bainbridge, GA, to the late Ernest Wilton Trammell, Sr. & Willie Mae Holton Trammell. He married Deborah Bertschy Trammell on April 15, 1983 in Thomasville, who preceded him in death on July 19, 2018. He was a member of the US Army and proudly served as MP during the Vietnam War. He also worked for the Military Police. He retired from CSX Railroad, where he worked as a Switchman and Carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, tinkering on his antique cars, Harley Davidson, and especially the peace and quiet of the woods. Survivors include; Missy Farless (Greg), Amy Villars (Todd), Rusty Trammell, Randy Trammell (Destiny), and Jessica Trammell (Brooks), grandchildren, Blake Godwin, Tommy Stokes, Bailie Shurley, Rusty Trammell, Pearcetin Trammell, Bryce Trammell, Jamie Lowry, Alex Lowry, Liam Trammell and Josephine Gursky, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and siblings, Wanda Long (Don), Suzanne Thomas (Jerry), Mike Trammell (Donna), and sister-in-law, Lawanda Bertschy (Mike). In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Trammell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Integrity Hospice – AGAPE Care Group – 303 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Ernest passing. He was a good fellow and I will miss him but he will never be forgotten because he’ll always be in our hearts.
