Luther Warren Swicord, age 84, of Fowlstown, GA, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Swicord Farm Church, 364 Baxley Road, Bainbridge, GA with Rev. Lynn Hurley officiating and with Larry Swicord, Jay Lambert, Tate Lambert, Garrett Lambert, Dillon Casteel, Nicolas Swicord, Gage Swicord, and Hunter Swicord serving as active pallbearers. Interment will be at Greenshade Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Luther was born on April 29, 1937 in Fowlstown, GA, the son of Jettie Baxley Swicord and Luther H. Swicord. He graduated with the Class of 1954 from Bainbridge High School. Luther was a farmer and business owner. He was a pilot, flight instructor, owned a crop-duster service, a feed mill, a trucking company, and a country grocery store. Many will remember him as the owner of Swicord Grocery in Fowlstown.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Whiddon Swicord; children, Robert Swicord, Wayne Swicord (Stephanie), Darlene Wright (Steven), Larry Swicord (Teresa), Teresa McMillan (Greg), and Jay Lambert (Mikki); sibling, JB Swicord (Saralyn); grandchildren, Rebekah Swicord, Nicolas Swicord (Jordan), Gage Swicord, Hunter Swicord, Blake Smith (Nathan), Kala Payne (Nathan), Tracy Blanchard (Matthew), Tate Lambert, Garrett Lambert (Melody), Dillon Casteel, and Sara Dollar; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Elizabeth; and a brother, Robert Swicord.
