Elaine Bembry, age 77, of Climax, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at her home.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Pine Forest Baptist Church with Reverend Jim McIntosh officiating. A private interment will be at Woodland Cemetery in Havana, FL. Pallbearers will be Ricky Parrish, Tyler Bembry, Jonny Walkup, Jay Collins, Alex Collins, Will Collins, Tim Collins, John Stehmeyer and Jay Roddenberry. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Elaine was born in Quitman, Georgia on June 9, 1944, the daughter of Mary Lou (Bush) and Avery Ralph Collins. Elaine has resided in Climax since 2002 and was previously from Havana, FL. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary, Sunday school teacher, and Treasurer. Elaine managed John F. Bembry DDS, PA in Tallahassee from 1969-2006. She also ran a 1,300 acre cattle farm in Climax, GA called Windy B Farms. She served as the President, Secretary, and Treasurer of Southwest Georgia Cattle Feeders Association over the past years. She was known for her love of gardening and baby calves. Her family said she never left a calf behind and would bottle feed them when needed.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John Bembry, Sr.; children, John F. Bembry, Jr. (Michelle) of Havana, FL and Mary Catherine Bembry of Havana, FL; brothers, Ralph J. Collins of Salado, TX and Ronnie Collins (Peggy Parker) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Tyler Bembry and Lindsay Walkup (Jonny); special cousin, Bonnie Ruth George; and numerous other family members. Elaine was preceded in death by both her parents and her sister–in-law, Ronette Collins.
