On Thursday, July 8, 2021, at around 1708 hours, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Investigator (Inv.) Vincent Edmond was on duty and located in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia. Inv. Edmond was in his unmarked patrol vehicle and was traveling westbound on Highway 84/Dothan Road. Inv. Edmond was near the intersection of Highway 84/Dothan Road and Cyrene Road when he looked in his rearview mirror and saw two vehicles approaching his patrol vehicle at a high rate of speed. Inv. Edmond was traveling in the travel lane and watched as a silver Cadillac sedan and a red Toyota sedan pass his patrol vehicle in the passing lane at an extremely high rate of speed.
